SPORTS LUXE S/S 12
Let’s get physical.. The Sports luxe trend has swapped the racetrack for the catwalk. Countdown for the Olympics has begun as Stella McCartney has designed the threads for Team GB and Stretford has become a cultural beacon of the East End.
The modern woman needs a wardrobe that can let her breathe; distinctly urban in feel with a classic, muted palette. Flashes of neon yellow and electric pink teased through the collections of Marc Jacobs, saving the look from becoming too ‘post-yoga.’ Alexander Wang has given ‘utility chic’ an aztec edge, Gareth Pugh stuck to a monochrome palette, using modern synthetic fabrics for a sporty side. Stella McCartney effortlessly combines the ergonomical with the distinctly feminine; her slouchy trousers adorned with paisley prints embodying the sports luxe trend. Comfort flirts with couture. Gym and then clubbing, darling; casual goes.
